Jasmine Lundy is a Research Associate in BioArCh, Department of Archaeology, University of York. She is an archaeological scientist whose research is focused on understanding past culinary habits through organic residue analysis (ORA) of pottery. In her work, she is particularly interested in the development of ORA methods to advance our levels of interpretation. In MEDGREENREV she will use a multifaceted ORA to extract and analyse absorbed residues from ceramic cooking wares to identify their contents. A large-scale analysis of pottery use from different socio-economic contexts in the 6th-16th century will enable important insights into local culinary habits in the Western Mediterranean at this time.
