Senior Lecturer in Medieval History at Universitat de València. Former postdoctoral fellow at the Université Lumière-Lyon 2 and researcher of the Ramón y Cajal programme.
His lines of research include the archaeology of settlements and rural spaces, the processes of conquest and colonisation, the Muslim peasantry under Christian rule and the currency in the Crown of Aragon.
He was PI of the project 'Modifications of late medieval cultivated ecosystems in the kingdom of Valencia' (2011-2015). He is the author of El naixement d'una colònia. Dominació i resistència a la frontera valenciana (1238-1278), in Publicacions de la Universitat de València (two editions: 1999, 2006). He has co-edited several collective works related to his lines of research, among them: From al-Andalus to the Americas (13th-17th Centuries).
