Iago Cuenca Martí graduated from the University of Murcia with a degree in History in 2023 and a Master’s degree in History and Historical Heritage in 2024.
During his academic career, he has participated in several archaeological excavations and fieldwork projects associated with the Universities of Murcia, Granada and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. After graduating, he also worked as a professional archaeologist. His experience includes projects related to the Andalusi and Late Medieval periods, with a particular interest in architecture and historical construction processes.
He is currently a predoctoral researcher at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, funded by the Joan Oró FI 2026 programme of the Government of Catalonia’s Department of Research and Universities, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus. His research focuses on the study of mortars from the Upper March of al-Andalus.
