She has a doctorate in Prehistory and Archaeology from the Autonomous University of Madrid after having studied in France and the United States. Currently, she is the Director of Boston University in Spain and Professor of the Departments of History and Archaeology at Boston University.
For more than twenty years she has been teaching and researching archaeological sites ranging from Prehistory to the 20th century. Her specialty also focuses on the management of archaeological heritage, an inseparable part of archaeological research, and which she was able to develop by directing the Cultural Management Area of the Atapuerca Foundation.
She has published numerous books and articles and, since 2001, she is co-directing the MAP project, at Torre d'en Galmés site in Menorca. The project studies the diachronic occupation of the site and, specifically, the Andalusian reoccupation of a Talayotic settlement, which has meant important contributions to the study of this historical stage of the island. In addition, she has coordinated different traveling exhibitions and directed doctoral theses.
