He was born on the 23th July 1963 in Vélez-Málaga (Málaga, Spain). He studied medieval history at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His PhD thesis (1998), directed by Prof. Miquel Barceló, was focussed on the study of the uses of money in different medieval societies. He completed his studies between 2000 and 2001 with a Master on Cultural Management (Universitat de Barcelona).
He has worked on the Andalusi peasant settlements in Minorca, and on the agricultures and peasant organisations in different medieval and modern colonial contexts in Southern Spain and, currently, in North Western Argentina.
From 1997 until the present day he has taught Medieval History, History of al-Andalus, and History and archaeology of medieval agricultures at the Department of Sciences of the Antiquity and Middle Ages (Faculty of Humanities. Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona).
