PhD in History from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Working associate professor in the Medieval History area of the Department of Ancient and Middle Ages Sciences of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, professor at the Facultat Antoni Gaudí d’Història, Arqueologia i Arts Cristianes and researcher attached to the Institut Català d’Arqueologia Clàssica.

In recent years, he has focused his research on the period from the 5th to the 8th century AD, especially with regard to Christianity, monasticism and ceramics, but he has also carried out several investigations and publications on the Andalusian period.

He has co-directed scheduled archaeological excavations in more than a dozen sites in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. He is currently co-director of the excavations at the Son Peretó site (Manacor - Mallorca) and of the island of Cabrera.
